SUNNYVALE, CA: Meadows Behavioral Healthcare, the industry leader in providing evidence-based behavioral healthcare treatment, announced their new Meadows Outpatient Center location in the Silicon Valley area, now open and accepting admissions. The center offers adults an all-inclusive, eight-week intensive outpatient program (IOP) for addictions, trauma, and other conditions, based on Pia Mellody’s renowned Meadows Model of Developmental Immaturity.
“Being able to create this new Meadows Outpatient Center where ‘we gather to heal’ in Silicon Valley is extremely rewarding and exciting. We are now able to combine 43 years of experience of The Meadows relational trauma healing with a time-tested model of addiction treatment and recovery in this comprehensive outpatient program,” said Jim Corrington, Executive Director of Outpatient Services for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare.“The center is about healing – body, brain, thoughts, emotions, spirit altogether. We focus on the core issues, not just symptoms. Our approach is holistic, embracing many different research-based modalities. We are incredibly grateful to bring this successful, all-inclusive outpatient model to Silicon Valley.”
The Meadows Outpatient Center in Silicon Valley offers those who have completed a residential, inpatient, or partial hospitalization treatment program a continuation of care as they transition back into everyday life. The center also accepts individuals without having undergone a higher level of care when appropriate for the program based on their clinical needs.
The location includes a unique Brain Center, which is easily accessible through the main center or from the street entrance. Within the Brain Center is a Brain Spa, featuring neurofeedback and state-of-the-art equipment designed to promote self-regulation skills, which improve physical and mental health.
The program also offers a host of modalities, including trauma-sensitive yoga, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, acupuncture/acupressure, expressive arts, group and individual therapy, family participation, and alumni events.
Dr. Jessica Byrd-Olmstead, Director of Outpatient Services of Silicon Valley, will oversee the IOP. Dr. Byrd-Olmstead is a licensed psychologist, author, and speaker who has served in multiple leadership positions across Silicon Valley. She has a background advocating for clinical excellence and transforming systems in public health, managed healthcare, and the private sector. She has specialized training in addiction, adolescent development, and gender identity, integrating over 17 years of experience in the larger recovery community with her professional work.
“I am honored to serve in a leadership position as the Director of Outpatient Services for Silicon Valley. In this role, I am able to serve a unique and diverse area, providing state-of-the-art addiction and trauma treatment; shifting the paradigm of treating illness to promoting wellness,” Byrd-Olmstead shared. “Silicon Valley is a global hub of innovation and creation. It is where the premier thought leaders of the world live. It is my work to empower them to care for themselves as they care for the rest of humanity.”
